The lavender valley in Tuscany

In the Pisan hills less than an hour from Hotel San Ranieri Pisa are the scenic fields of lavender grown organically and biodynamically as part of the European project Flora Aromatica Santa Luce, which promotes the enhancement of rural areas. The flowering period of the lavender fields is from June to August, changes from area to area, and is related to both altitude and climate. The flowering site is the Strada Provinciale delle Colline (Provincial Road of the Hills) that connects Orciano Pisano to Santa Luce in the province of Pisa, which is easily accessible from Hotel San Ranieri. The best time to see lavender at its peak is the end of June, while harvesting begins in late July.
The landscape of Orciano Pisano, the smallest municipality in the province of Pisa, is among the most photographed in Tuscany. Guests of Hotel San Ranieri can spend a pleasant day or half day in the lavender valley in the province of Pisa and enjoy pleasant experiences related to lavender cultivation.
Nearby, in addition to lavender, a visit to the Santa Luce Regional Reserve, a paradise for birdwatching and nature activities with holistic and spiritual paths, is recommended. And of the nearby Buddhist monastery in Pomaia, which in the past has hosted important VIPs such as Richard Gere.
Stay at Hotel San Ranieri and visit Pisa and its irresistible territories.
